How much does a website cost?

Every website is individually quoted, so there are no fixed packages or 'from' prices. We talk through what you need, you receive a free first preview, and then a clear written quote before anything is agreed. Payment is 50% at the start and 50% on completion under the accepted project terms.

What is the free first preview?

It is a hosted demonstration of a possible design direction for your website, on a temporary link that stays up for a week, provided before any paid agreement. One preview is included, and you do not need to give payment details or start a maintenance plan to request it.

Do I need a domain already?

No. If you already have a domain we can work with it, and if you don't I can explain the options and any costs before you commit to anything.

Can you redesign my existing website?

Yes — redesigns are one of the main things I do. I look at what's there, keep the content that still works and modernise the design, layout and customer experience around it.

Will my website work on mobile phones?

Yes. Every site is designed responsively, so it's readable and easy to use on phones and tablets as well as desktop.

What happens after launch?

Your website goes live once the final payment is made, and you own it, subject to any documented third-party licensing. For 30 days after launch I correct any reported defects caused by my own failure to meet the agreed specification, free of charge. Maintenance is entirely optional and is available at £25 per month, with a 12-month minimum term and then rolling monthly. Hosting is not included.

What counts as a change on a care plan?

One change credit covers one clearly defined small task of up to 30 minutes' hands-on work, including checking: replacing supplied text or images in an existing section, updating opening hours or contact details, or a small styling adjustment. Fault fixes, security work and support do not use a credit. Unused credits roll over while the plan is active, up to a balance of three, and up to three can be combined for a larger agreed task. New pages, redesigns and new functionality are quoted separately and agreed before work begins.

Can you guarantee I'll rank first on Google?

No, and nobody honestly can. Results depend on factors including competition, your existing website and changes search engines make. What I can do is build sound foundations and set out the agreed work in a written proposal.

Do you charge VAT?

No. Website Ready is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to prices.

Do you only work with businesses nearby?

Accepted Answer

No. I work remotely with businesses throughout the UK, using calls and email to keep things simple. Services are provided to businesses buying for business purposes.
