Website maintenance
Keep your website up to date, without another job on your list.
Standard website maintenance covers ongoing upkeep and gives you a clear way to request focused content changes after launch.
Monthly price
£25 per month · 12-month minimum term · Hosting not included.
- 12-month initial minimum term, then rolling monthly.
- The fee is payable monthly in advance and is collected on the 1st of each month.
- If your start date falls mid-month, the first payment covers the period from that date to the same date the following month. From then on, payments are collected on the 1st.
- One month's notice to cancel. Notice can be given during the minimum term to take effect at its end.
- Not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to prices.
The website build itself is quoted separately and is payable in addition to maintenance.
What is included
- Uptime checks every two days and a weekly check of the site's agreed functionality
- Supported security patches and routine updates within my control
- Investigation and routine corrective work to keep the site running
- Email support, with a response within one working day
- One change credit each month, covering a small task of up to 30 minutes
- Unused credits roll over while the plan is active, up to a balance of three
- Fault fixes, security work and support do not use up a change credit
What is not included
- Hosting — this is not included and is arranged separately
- New pages, redesigns, new functionality and copywriting, which are quoted separately
- The website build itself, which is quoted separately as a project fee
- Penetration testing, security certification and 24-hour staffed cover
- Platform migrations and extensive incident recovery, which are separately agreed
Your monthly change credit
You get one change credit at the start of each paid month. One credit covers one clearly defined small task, reasonably estimated at up to 30 minutes of hands-on work including checking — for example replacing supplied text or images in an existing section, updating opening hours or contact details, or a small styling adjustment. Related edits can be grouped into one task if they fit the allowance.
Unused credits roll over while the plan is active, up to a balance of three, and up to three can be combined for a larger task we agree is suitable. Fault fixes, security work and support do not use a credit. New pages, redesigns, new functionality and copywriting are quoted separately and agreed before work begins.
Support and monitoring
- Support requests and fault alerts get a response within one working day (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in England).
- A response acknowledges and assesses the issue and explains the next step. It is not a promise of a completed repair within that time; outages and security issues are prioritised.
- Uptime is checked at least once every two days and the site's agreed functionality weekly, but there is no 24-hour staffed emergency cover. Larger recovery or development work is quoted and approved before it starts.
Billing and cancellation
- Maintenance starts on the agreed start date, normally the day your website goes live, and the 12-month minimum term runs from that date.
- The fee is payable monthly in advance and is collected on the 1st of each month.
- If your start date falls mid-month, the first payment covers the period from that date to the same date the following month. From then on, payments are collected on the 1st.
- Where your platform provides backup or version-history features, I use them and confirm a recovery point before making a material change. A specific backup service — its coverage, retention and restoration times — is only promised where it is written into your order.
- To cancel, let me know in writing — no phone call and no explanation needed. One month's notice applies, so the plan ends one calendar month after the request is accepted, with one further monthly payment due in that period. I confirm the end date in writing.
- If a payment fails, I let you know and allow seven days to put it right before maintenance is suspended. Credits are frozen rather than lost, and access is restored promptly once payment is made. Suspension does not take your website down, remove your ownership of it, delete your data or affect your domain.
- Any price or material plan change needs at least 30 days' written notice, taking effect from the next renewal after that, so you can cancel first if you prefer.
When maintenance ends
- Checks, changes and support stop from the effective end date, and no further payment is taken.
- You can use available credits until the end date, and a request approved before then is completed as agreed.
- A basic handover of your materials and available website exports is included, with no exit fee, normally within 10 working days.
- Ending maintenance does not take down a separately hosted website you have paid for in full, remove your ownership of it, delete your data or affect your domain.
