Privacy Notice

This notice explains how personal information is handled when you use this website or enquire about services. It describes current, verified practice; it will be updated when online payments and account features are added.

Who is responsible

David Bray trading as Website Ready, a sole trader based at 13 Aspect House, Hatfield, AL10 8FL, is the data controller. You can get in touch by email at david@websiteready.co.uk or by telephone on 07375 080076.

What this website collects

The enquiry form does not send anything to this website's servers. When you submit it, your own email application opens with the details you typed, and the enquiry only reaches Website Ready when you send that email. That means no enquiry data is stored by this website itself.

Information received by email or telephone

  • Your name, business name, email address and, if you choose to give it, your telephone number.
  • Your existing website address, the service you are interested in, and any budget or timing you choose to share.
  • What you tell me about your project, and any later correspondence.

Why it is used, and the lawful basis

  • Responding to your enquiry and preparing a quote or free first preview — legitimate interests in dealing with business enquiries, or steps towards a contract where you are a sole trader contracting personally.
  • Delivering and supporting agreed work — performance of a contract, or legitimate interests where the contract is with a company and you are its contact.
  • Keeping business and financial records — compliance with legal obligations.

Business contacts and sole traders

Where you are a sole trader contracting in your own name, your details are personal data relating to you directly. Where you are an employee or officer contacting me for your employer, your details are handled as business contact information for that organisation's enquiry or contract. Consent is not used as a general basis for handling enquiries.

Marketing

There is no newsletter or marketing mailing list. You are not asked to consent to marketing in order to make an enquiry, and enquiry details are not used for unrelated marketing.

Who else is involved

  • Hosting: this website is hosted on the Lovable platform, which processes technical request information such as IP addresses in server logs.
  • Email: enquiries travel through your email provider and mine, which process the message and its contents.
  • Google Fonts: the site loads fonts from Google's font servers, so your browser's IP address is disclosed to Google when a page loads. No cookies are set by this.
  • No analytics, advertising, tracking, chat, booking or social media tools are installed on this website.

International transfers

Some providers, including Google's font service and platform hosting, may process technical information outside the UK. Details of the specific locations and safeguards for each provider are being confirmed and will be stated here rather than assumed.

How long information is kept

Enquiry records, project records and invoices are kept for one year, after which they are deleted, unless a longer period is required by law — for example where tax law requires financial records to be kept for longer. Nothing is kept for marketing purposes, as no marketing list is operated.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, portability where it applies, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. To make a request, email david@websiteready.co.uk. If you are unhappy with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Client data handled during maintenance

Where maintenance, hosting support or troubleshooting involve information belonging to a client's own customers, that work is carried out on the client's documented instructions as their processor. The Data Processing Agreement (version 1.1) and a private, service-specific processing record are agreed before any such data is made available, covering security measures, suppliers, international transfers, breach notification, and the return or deletion of data when the service ends.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and any credentials or keys are stored in the platform's secure configuration rather than in the website's code. No card details are collected or stored by this website. No system can be described as completely secure, and no such claim is made.
